Using a control (ascx) in an xml.config file

I have a control that I want to use within an xml.config file (page.default.xml.config). Is theere a way to do this and what is the proper syntAx?

You can't invoke a control/page from within an XML package.  There's a way to put C# code in XmlPackages if the control is only doing a tiny bit of work (though it'd be better to leave it in outside code & call it with an XSLTExtensionBase function), or you could load the control in a .aspx page and embed it in an iframe.
