I have a product that is set-up just like all my other products. The product is published and shows up when I do a search but when I click on the product it takes me to a page that says "That product could not be found"

I cloned the product and the clone page works and I have matched all the attributes but for some reason this product will not show up and I can't figure out how to make actually take you to the product page when search for the part.

Are the URL's the same?

I am not sure what you mean by are the URLS the same.

If you mean the old URL it took me to when I click versus the new, no they are not the same because its supposed to take me here

www.aceindustries.com/p-20244.aspx

but that URL redirects me to

www.aceindustries.com/t-productnorfound.aspx

If you meant are the URL's the same for the product and its clone, No they are not the same because the clone is given a new Product ID therefore changing the clones URL to

www.aceindustires.com/p-32994.aspx

If neither of those are what you meant than I need to you to clarifty a little bit.

Also, to clarify, I just took over this website a few months ago and the previous gate keeper has left our company so I am not sure what he did that may have cuased this. Normally when I have issues with similar products I can change the xml package from

product.configurable-multiimage.xml.config

to

product.simpleproduct.xml.config

and that usually makes the product live again but in this instance nothing I have tried is working.

When I looked at the search result url's the first three looked like this

http://www.aceindustries.com/p-20240-ret-ring-ext.aspx

http://www.aceindustries.com/p-20241-ret-ring-ext.aspx

http://www.aceindustries.com/p-20242-ret-ring-ext.aspx

http://www.aceindustries.com/p-20243-ret-ring-ext.aspx

These take you to those product pages. When I tried the next one there is an extra - after the ext

http://www.aceindustries.com/p-20244-ret-ring-ext-.aspx

Not sure if this is an issue withing ASPDNSF but you could try renaming the product from

ret ring ext- to ret ring ext as it appears to have the extra - within the title somehow. Also check the basics such as product is mapped to the store etc.
Actually within store front all of those products are named,

RET RING EXT .

Even where it says page title it says , "RET RING EXT ."

So I am not sure where you see that url but that dash is not reflected anyhwere on that products profile within store front.

Within the search the products that are linking to the product page are called

Ret Ring Ext

The ones that are broken have the . at the end

Ret Ring Ext. I think that the . is being converted to a - in the url and that is causing an issue. Here is the search

I'd try removing the . and just calling in Ret Ring Ext as the three that are working seem to be fine

You can see from this image that when you hover over the url for the  product (the url in the bottom left, has the - included.

ding ding ding!!! We have a winner

Thank you so much for your help!
No problem :)

Hmm, does that cloned product have Variants and a valid  Default Variant set?

Thank you,

It has an "(Unnamed Variant") with a defined Manufacturer Part#

Radio Buttons:

*Publish = Yes

*Is Recurring = No

Price is defined ($1.07)

*Customer Enters Price = No

*Is tax seperable = Yes

*Is Ship seperately, *IsFree Shipping, *Is Download all = No

*Condition = New

Weight = 0

Current inventory: 100000000

*Is subscription: No

OK, but on the Variant Management page (one that shows all variants for a product), make sure the Default Variant is set there... also, click the Update Display Order Default Variant button anyway because it might be just "defaulting" and not really set...

And I have tried creating a new variant for the non operational one and switching the default to the new one I create. The item still routs to a product not found page.
Both the original and the clone each only have qty 1 variants and they both have that variant selected as the default.

Hmm, could it be Inventory issue? Does the product have a Manufacturer selected that is published?

Thank you,
Jan

I am not sure what you mean by inventory issue, but the majority of our products have

Current inventory: 100000000

and it does not cause issues for any other product. I did notice that products 20245 and 20246 are also "Not Found" and they are simliar products.

As for the manfacturer, it is set to "Yale Hoist Parts" which is the same manufacturer that the

20243, 20242, and 20241 are assigned to (these products are working)

Just in case anyone else finds this I'll put the reason here. makes it easier
