Do special characters in product names need to be entered using HTML?

We have a product that includes the words "Theory & History", and that's how the product name was entered.  But on the customer invoice, it shows as "Theory & History".  If I change the product name to "Theory & History", would it display correctly (replacing the code with the & symbol) both on the website and on the customer's invoice?  If not, then what is the recommended way of dealing with special characters?

Hi.

Yes I would use & within the product name, that way it should display correctly. Same with other characters € etc..

It also sounds like your receipt may be customized? Make sure you are  disabling the output escaping  on the name output on your receipt... (so it leaves &)

Thank you,
Jan
