database script error 9.5.1

am getting below error while executing latest version 9.5.1 of create_aspdotstorefront_database.sql in ssms2008

am just downloaded from the site and execute it.

Check the Compatibility Mode on the DB - right-click, Properties, Options.  I'm guessing that'll show SQL Server 2005 or before.

You'll need to bump that up to 2008 if you can (requires sa permissions on the DB).

The problem is that in the create/upgrade scripts, we do some things now (have for a while, actually) that don't work in older versions of SQL.  In this case, it's defining & assigning a variable at the same time.
