Adding rewrite rules to web.config...... not working

I am adding rewrite rules to my site but none of them seem to be executing. Is it possible that an aspdnsf function is causing some kind of interference?

  <rule name="Support Rewrite" stopProcessing="true">
          <match url="^support/$" />
          <action type="Rewrite" url="/topic/support/" appendQueryString="false" />
        </rule>

 I wanted to start off with a simple rule and that is not even working.

I am using version: 10.0.7

That isn't formatted quite right.  If you're going for /support/*anything* seeing the contents of /topic/support, you need this:

<rule name="Support Rewrite" stopProcessing="true">
	<match url="^support/(.*)" />
	<action type="Rewrite" url="topic/support" appendQueryString="false" />
</rule>

That assumes that you have a topic named 'support' of course.

If you want the customer to actually be forwarded to the new URL so the address in their address bar changes, change "Rewrite" to "Redirect".
